Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2021

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

2021 Ontario Sunshine List: Finance Top Earners

Every year, the Ontario government publishes its annual Sunshine List of public sector servants with six-figure salaries. According to the document, Finance's 397 staffers made the Sunshine List, earning total compensation of $47,922,010.32 in 2020.

At the top of the Finance Sunshine List

Topping the list for the Finance was Deputy Minister Gergely Orencsak, who brought home $413,559.11 in 2020.

Following Gergely Orencsak was Associate Deputy Minister Mahmood Nanji, with annual earnings of $248,251.38. Associate Deputy Minister Nancy Mudrinic made $242,064.22, Assistant Deputy Minister, Provincial Local Finance Allan Doheny made $233,871.49, and Assistant Deputy Minister/Chief Economist, Office of Economic Policy Brian Lewis round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $230,460.32 for the Finance 2021 Sunshine List.
